🪪ID Scanning via Reader 🆕

This feature allows Malaysian clinics to quickly and accurately register new patients by scanning their official Malaysian Identification (e.g., MyKad) using a dedicated, supplied physical ID reader.

💰 A. Charges & Activation

Item	Details

Activation	Required. This is an Add-on service that must be activated by our team.
Hardware	A dedicated physical card reader is required and will be couriered to your clinic upon activation.

🛠️ B. Prerequisites & Setup

Before you can use this function, ensure the following requirements are met and the setup steps are followed precisely:

Requirement	Details
Operating System	Windows-based PC only. macOS is currently not supported for this function.
User Permission	The user account must have the necessary permissions to register new patients. Example: Frontdesk User

Part 1: Service Activation & Hardware

1. Activate the Add-on Service: Contact our Customer Services Team to activate the "Scan Patient ID via Physical Reader" add-on.

2. Hardware Delivery: Upon activation, a dedicated physical card reader will be couriered to your clinic address.

Part 2: Reader Software Installation (One-Time Setup)

1. Connect the Reader: Upon receiving the reader, simply connect it to your Windows computer via the supplied USB cable.

2. Download Installer: Download the ID Reader software installer folder to your PC via the Google Drive link:

3. Run Installation: Locate the downloaded folder and run the "Install-MyKadReaderService.bat" file on your PC. This installs the necessary service for communication.

📖 C. Step-by-Step Guide: Patient Registration

Once the setup is complete, follow these simple steps for daily use:

1. Open Medicalmet: Ensure your Medicalmet application is open in the Google Chrome browser.

2. Navigate to Form: Go to the Patients $\rightarrow$ +Add New Patient .

3. Insert IC: Insert the patient's Malaysian IC (MyKad) into the connected reader.

4. Scan: Press the [Scan ID Via Reader] button located typically on the top right of the registration form.

5. Verify & Remove:

   • The patient's Name, IC Number, Date of Birth, Gender, and Address will be automatically filled according to the IC detail.

   • Once the info has appeared, you can remove the IC card from the reader.

6. Finalize: Review the pre-filled information, enter any additional details (e.g., phone number, email), and click Save.
